Its star-shaped terminal building, seen here, is the largest single-structure airport terminal in the world at about 700,000 square meters (7.5 million square feet). Daxing began operations in September 2019 and has served more than 50 million passengers since.
Monte Fitz Roy - Low Angle

East Palestine Derailment

On February 3rd, a fiery train derailment occurred in the town of East Palestine, Ohio, sparked by a mechanical issue with a rail car axle. Some 50 freight cars slid off the tracks, 10 of which contained hazardous materials such as vinyl chloride. Nearby residents were evacuated and a controlled release of toxic fumes was executed to prevent an explosion. Evacuation orders were lifted for the town on February 8th, though many question if the area is truly safe yet.

Palmanova

Brunt Ice Shelf

Last week, the Brunt Ice Shelf broke away from Antarctica after many years of gradual fracturing. The calving formed a new iceberg twice the size of New York City, with an area of about 600 square miles (1,550 square kilometers). Scientists from the British Antarctic Survey say this event is the result of natural forces, not climate change.
