CopenHill

CopenHill, also known as Amager Bakke, is a waste-to-energy power plant in Copenhagen, Denmark, with an artificial ski slope on its roof. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and opened in 2019, the 85-meter-tall (280 ft) combined heat and power plant incinerates roughly 440,000 tons of non-recyclable household waste each year, supplying electricity to around 30,000 households and district heating to 72,000 more. Its sloped roof holds a year-round ski run, hiking trails, and a rooftop bar. Lastly, one side of the structure is billed as the world’s tallest artificial climbing wall.
