Seuss Landing

Seuss Landing is one of eight “islands” inside Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando, Florida. It is based on the works of author Dr. Seuss and features attractions such as “The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride” and a “Green Eggs and Ham Cafe.” True to Seussian style, the theme park claims that no straight lines exist in its design — even palm trees left bent by Hurricane Andrew were re-planted at the park to advance this theme.

Shuangyu Island

Shuangyu Island, also known as Double Fish Island, is a man-made island under construction in Xiamen Bay, Southeast China. Its design, which depicts a pair of dolphins circling each other, calls for roughly 8.8 billion gallons (33.3 billion liters) of reclaimed land to create. The island is slightly more than one mile (1.68 km) in diameter with about 7 miles (11.4 km) of coastline. When finished, it will house a high-end ecological resort.

On Monday, April 15, humanity lost timeless pieces of Gothic architecture when fire nearly destroyed Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. The landmark, which took nearly two centuries to build, lost much of its 800-year-old roof and saw its 19th century spire collapse during the 15-hour blaze. Fortunately, its central structure is still intact, and French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged to restore Notre Dame within five years. This aerial photograph shows Notre Dame before the fire, and we hope to bring you post-fire imagery soon.

The wind farm has the capacity to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 760,000 tonnes annually.

Seymour Johnson Air Force Base

This image, captured by the European Space Agency's Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellite, shows the cyclone on March 13 off the west coast of Madagascar. Hundreds of people have been killed in the disaster, and thousands more are stranded or missing.

The lake was formed with the creation of the Hoover Dam in the 1930s. At least 2,000 homes and 340 businesses have been damaged or destroyed, and losses to infrastructure, farmland and livestock are monumental.
